Cooking Art: Cuisinart

The Cuisinart in all it's glory. I've been waiting a long time for this...

Cuisinart has been a household name with the Cope's for years. My Mom got her first Cuisinart a long time ago. I’m not sure exactly how long but I know she's had it for at least 25 years. A long time!! And I've wanted one for a long time, too. Just yesterday I decided that I would buy one (well, it was on sale and that's what prompted my big purchase) but had always thought upon getting married would I own my first Cuisinart. Nope. I am single! I now I’m a proud owner of Cuisinart 9-Cup Food Processor.  In my book, history was made. Also, I've had a picture of a Cuisinart on my "inspirational" kitchen bulletin board {yes, an actual, physical bulletin board – not Pinterest} for quite some time so just goes to show that you need to envision thing things that you want and ahh-hah they shall appear J My dream has come to fruition and now I have my very own Cuisinart!! The household name has made me a brand loyal customer to Cuisinart... I own the the Cuisinart Immersion Blender and the Cuisinart Citrus Juicer {and hopefully more to come….}.

So...I had some fall fruit that needed to be used and decided to make my Grandma's Peach Cobbler recipe with a twist. Substituting pears and apples for the peaches.

Let’s just say yum…..
Below are some pictures {forgot to photograph my lovely pears} and the recipe.

I had pears and apples from WesCo that needed to be used.. so I decided to take my Grandma Cope's Peach Cobbler recipe and make it instead with these fall fruit delights...

Using Grandma's apple corer peeler slicer..

Presenting...Pear Apple Cobbler
Grandma Cope's Peach Cobbler Recipe aka Pear Apple Cobbler:
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk.

Mix together (aka in the CUISINART) and put in greased pan.

Fruit mixture:
4 c. fruit
1/2 c. sugar

Place mixture in pan with the fruit on top sprinkled with cinnamon. Bake 375, 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

Cool a bit and serve with whipped cream and a little dusting of cinnamon. I had the pleasure of baking some and sharing with my new neighbor, Riley, who just moved in. I just love hospitality...
