Happy Spring
April Fool's when I was little .. I can just envision waking up and
having a sense of excitement and yet feeling a bit scared too for what
was yet to come. :)
My parents were into tricking us and it made for much fun and now so
many memories...
Plastic wrap on the toilet. Vaseline on the toilet seat. Mini dixie
cups filled with water on the top of bedroom or bathroom doors.
Vaseline on the door knobs....Those are a few of the tricks I remember
from my parents... but mostly my Papa.. The rascal!!
One April Fool's Day my oldest cousin, Kecia, was visiting us and she
put numbing gel on our toothbrushes. Oh man, that was a good prank.
Of course, we did the typical rubber band on the faucet sprayer --
getting anyone who turned on the kitchen sink all wet! Then Mixing
something like flour into water to make it look like milk? I remember
stirring something white into water to try and trick a drinker into
thinking it was something that it was not, during mealtime. I also
remember swapping out the salt for sugar and vice versa. Oh to be a
child again.
I think this year is the first time that I haven't done any sort of prank. Sad.
Today is one of my most favorite days, ever!! I can't wait to have
kids of my own and fool them like crazy :) Another thing that I used
to LOVE to do: scare people. "BOO!" I feel like that was one of my
signature jokes/pranks. I'm sure it got old very quickly, but I
thought it was hilarious. Just ask my dear friend, Emily
Currier-Osburn. I'm sure she has plenty of stories to share. Ha. Ha..
Well, happy springtime, my friends -- just look at all the beauty that
is gracing our world .. new life is thriving around us - what a site.
So pretty. The blooms on all the trees are fragrant too.
A lovely day to be alive!
