Ack! I've been so out of touch. I think about writing and then it gets to the end of the month and then another month passes! Shoot!

There are many things to write about but the people who fill my time are the ones who fill my heart. Colton is growing and sometimes after a nap or when he wakes up in the morning, he just LOOKS bigger. I ask him, "Did you grow last night?!" It's wonderful to be able to watch him grow, develop and adjust. His language is blossoming and he says new words everyday that I didn't realize he even knew! I went to the grocery the other night and he looks at the counter and says, "Two mayonnaise." I mean, there were two bottles, yes, but I've never TAUGHT him how to say the word mayonnaise or show him what a mayo bottle looks like. Or, when the ice maker was doing its job a few weeks back and he exclaims, "Ice maker!" What? Jeff and I will look at each other and smile or laugh or both! It's amazing what he is soaking up and how he is able to communicate things to us more!
Yesterday, sweet boy was playing outside and yells, "Bee! Bee!" And is then crying, running in the house to find me. I run to him with open arms and he reaches up and hugs me. We embrace as he cries and I asked him what happened and where did it hurt? He points and says, "Nose!" Sure enough, he had been stung and we had to remedy the situation with a paste of some baking soda and water (and lavender essential oil). This reminded me of my Grandma, who on more than one occasion helped remedy my stings with this paste! It was bittersweet - I have a hurt son but I have sweet memories of my Grandma and I wish so deeply she could have met Colton (and the rest of my Grandparents for that matter!). So, we had a mini bowl of ice cream to help the matter (I mean, what does ice cream not fix?! Ha!) and Colton has a white blob of baking soda paste on the side of his nose. He's starting to feel better at this point. It's soon after he looks at me, smiles and says, "Mommy, Coltie happy now!" That made me so happy!

It's the little things, right?
