Meeting our baby for the first time was exciting! I remember laughing, too, as Jeff had forgot to mention of it was a boy or girl and then we saw the balls and it was funny, and exciting and full of AWE at the same time. I recall moaning a bit and still feeling the pain of childbearing - without a doubt - THE HARDEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE and one of the proudest moments, too. After going through that experience I have full confidence that I could conquer anything I wanted. It's pretty empowering!
Now, early this morning, I nurse our second son and again sit in awe. Life is a beautiful thing and I'm so thankful for it and living life with people nearby (and far away, too). Life is fragile, precious, and honestly, super miraculous! Four years ago I witness the miraculousness first hand and am still in awe!
The day has come and gone and we celebrated (not exactly how we planned - as he is sick!) but it was still a good day.
He wanted a red dragon cake with yellow eyes and fire coming from its mouth and I delivered!!
Happy Birthday dear Colton!
