This past weekend we spent time with “Uncle David” in Colorado Springs (my mom’s first cousin). It was special to hear about family history and learn stories of my great grandparents (like how my great grandfather was so mad at a mule for not moving, he punched in between the eyes and knocked it dead!) We ate gourmet food (¡yum!), walked around the Garden of the Gods (beautiful place!), visited Glen Eyrie Castle (wedding memories!), went into the hot tub (hot pool as Colton calls it), the boys played with a cap gun, Colton was given a pocket watch (look at the excitement on his face!), and I heard a little bit about Uncle David’s work with space shuttles and being in Mission Control (that Apollo cup he designed!).What a lovely time. 
️Here’s a phrase that was said by Uncle David that cracked me up — for a shot of whiskey or a stiff drink, “Over the lips and past the gums, look out belly here it comes!”
